Position: Executive Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall operational responsibility for execution of the mission of Committee For King as directed by the Board.



Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and recommend resources as needed to achieve goals. Actively engage and energize CFK volunteers, board members, event committees, partner organizations and funders. Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee.

Fundraising & Communications:

Expand local revenue generating and fundraising to support organization programs.

Deepen and refine all aspects of communication – from web presence to external relations with the goal of strengthening the brand.


Community College or 2 years of experience in an office environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good knowledge of computer software including windows operating system, word, excel, and power point.

Strong knowledge of social media use in promotion of brand.

Ability to work effectively and in collaboration with diverse groups of people.


-Organize and communicate board and committee meetings to include location, time, and accommodations

-Support Secretary in dissemination of minutes

-Support Treasurer in management and reporting of financial activities

-Develop and distribute donor materials

-Coordinate production of publications

-Closely work with Web Manager in web and social media postings

-Deposit funds to account and maintain activity report

-Work with accountant to insure compliance with government regulations both federal, state and local

-Maintain organization records in secure environment

-Monitor postal box and check mail weekly
