COMMITTEE FOR KING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH

Committee for King is now accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. This is a paid, part-time position with no benefits. The variable schedule is ten to twenty hours weekly, depending on current activities. Roles and responsibilitites of the Executive Director include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Committee for King work. This includes managing mail, emails, phone calls, etc. related to organization’s activities.
• Financial management – work with Board Treasurer to maintain financial records, assist budget planning process and oversight, support fundraising, keep tax records current (CPA/Treasurer), pay bills in a timely manner
• Compliance – ensure that the organization complies with all state and federal guidelines and policies for non-profit organizations
• Board Support – attend monthly Board meetings and organization’s activities/programs
• Community Relations – be the face of Committee for King for public relations and announcements. Promote the mission and vision of the Committee: “Seeking love, compassion, respect, and racial harmony for all people.”
Qualifications:
• Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
• Transportation to conduct local business
• Positive attitude – must be able to effectively communicate/promote message and mission of the organization to the public
• Sincere interest in the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
