DR. ROBERT SOLOMON

Dr. Robert (Bobby) Solomon


The Reverend Dr. Robert T. Solomon is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He is the son of the late Mr. Jimmy Fennell and the late Mrs. Edith Solomon. Educated in the Chatham County Public School System, he is a graduate of Savannah High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Tuskegee University and upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army. He earned a master of science degree from Troy State University and worked as a human resource manager in the private sector. He also attended Calvary Bible Institute in Washington, D.C. Dr. Solomon received his doctorate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in leadership from Walden University.

Prior to joining the staff at Itawamba Community College as the Director of Admissions and Registrar, Dr. Solomon held other leadership roles in postsecondary institutions, including Dean for Student Affairs and the Assistant Director for Career Assessment and Learning at Savannah Technical College, where he also served as a Special Population Coordinator, responsible for ensuring that student support services were readily available to disadvantaged students to assist them with achieving their academic goals. Most recently, Dr. Solomon co-authored a minority male success program (MAN UP) on behalf of Itawamba Community College and received a $40,000 grant from the Woodward Hines Education Foundation to equip minority male students with the skills necessary to achieve academic success while fostering leadership skills and professional and personal development.

The Reverend Dr. Solomon is a member of Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church and a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Incorporated. He is married to the former Linda E. Edgar (from Germany) and they reside in Belden, MS.
